Tynwald Primary School was established and founded 10 years ago by the late General Vitalis Zvinavashe, whom one of the students described as a father of love, vision and knowledge.
The school started with only one student, and in 1998 the official ground breaking ceremony was held at the site. In October 1999 the foundation was dug and the precast walls put in place. The laying of the stone by the general and the unveiling of the stone written "Tynwald Primary School" was done in November, and it was the first step in his dream that resulted in the Tynwald family of schools we see today.
On the 16th of January, 2001 the school was opened at the new site with grades 1-6. Mr Mujere, the headmaster, was there to welcome the parents and children on while the General witnessed the event. Today, Tynwald celebrates ten years of existence, and it resembles one of the best schools in Zimbabwe. The level of descipline instilled in the students is an asset which will help them be great men and women with a good vision for livelihood.
